Celebrate at the Florida Wiener Dog Derby!
Calling all Wiener Dogs and Wanna-Be Wiener Dogs! Join us for a full day of Doggone Fun at the Florida Wiener Dog Derby, celebrating our 15th anniversary with the grandest wiener dog race globally. No professional racing experience is required, making it a perfect event for all dog lovers to enjoy a day of excitement and competition.
Race Divisions and Contests

• Every Wiener and Wanna-Be dog is welcome to participate in one of the eight divisions, catering to all ages and abilities:
• AA Puppy
• Ween Teen
• Awesome Adult
• Frosty Flyers
• Super Seniors
• Chariots of Fire Wheelie Dog Race
• Courageous & Challenged (blind/deaf)
• The Wanna-Be (any breed under 40 lbs) Race
• In addition to the races, there will be entertaining contests throughout the day for all breeds to showcase their skills and charm:
• The K-9 Costume Contest
• The Kissing Contest
• The Tail Wag Contest
• Bad 2da Bone -obedience- Contest
• Best Nose -timed treat seek- Contest
• Speed Trap -where we clock your pup’s speed and issue a “speeding ticket”-

All winners of the races and contests will be honored with medals, trophies, and exciting prizes, adding to the thrill of the event.
Raffle and Auction
Participate in The Grand Raffle and the Silent Art Auction, featuring a wide array of items generously provided by our sponsors and donors, including Publix Gift Cards, Top Golf, Total Wine, and many more.
The event kicks off at 11 am and continues until 5 pm, culminating in the crowning of the Grand Champion and the Florida National Dachshund Race Champion.

Location and Parking
Held in Downtown Tampa, finding parking is most convenient in city-run garages, private lots, or metered street spaces. As part of Riverfest, anticipate crowds and traffic in the area. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and umbrellas for shade, with food and drinks available for purchase within Riverfest.
