“Laila” definitely seems to be riding a similar wave as Dream Girl 2.0, with its male protagonist transforming into a female avatar for comedic effect. While Vishwak Sen’s bold attempt at playing a female character is commendable, the film appears to fall into the same traps of outdated humor and chaotic storytelling that often plague such concepts. The comparison is inevitable, but it looks like Laila struggles to bring anything fresh or memorable to the table. If you’re a fan of over-the-top, cringy comedies, this might be worth a watch, but otherwise, it seems like a skip.
