Air India Express has discontinued its direct flights from Indore to Dubai, marking the end of this route with the last flight on Thursday night. This decision may disappoint travelers who enjoyed the convenience of a direct flight. However, the airline has increased its Indore-Sharjah flights from two to four weekly, offering an alternative route for passengers.

The change comes as a surprise to those accustomed to the direct service, which began in March 2023. The discontinuation is attributed to the unavailability of suitable time slots at Dubai Airport, leading to the suspension of the Indore-Dubai route. Despite this, the enhanced Indore-Sharjah flights ensure continued connectivity to the UAE.

Passengers traveling to Dubai will now land in Sharjah and make a short road trip to their final destination. While not as convenient as the direct flight, this option still provides a viable route for travelers. The additional flights to Sharjah aim to accommodate the needs of passengers affected by the route change.

This development signifies a shift in Air India Express’s service strategy, focusing on optimizing available routes and managing airport slot constraints. Travelers should adjust their plans accordingly, making use of the increased flight frequency to Sharjah as a gateway to Dubai.
