Air India Rolls Out Special Discounts and Benefits for Students Traveling Worldwide

Air India has introduced special discounted fares and additional benefits tailored for students across its domestic and international routes. These incentives aim to make air travel more accessible and affordable for students pursuing education and cultural experiences worldwide.

Key Benefits for Students:

  • Discounted Fares: Students can avail up to a 10% discount on base fares across all flights. This concession is available in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business class cabins, providing flexibility based on individual preferences and budgets.
  • Extra Baggage Allowance: An additional 10 kg of baggage allowance is granted, accommodating the extensive luggage needs often associated with student travel.
  • Flexible Booking Options: A one-time free date change is permitted, offering adaptability to students whose travel plans may require adjustments.

To access these benefits, bookings must be made directly through Air India’s official channels, including their website and mobile application. Notably, the airline does not charge a convenience fee for bookings made via the mobile app, resulting in additional savings of ₹399 on domestic flights and up to ₹999 on international flights. Further discounts are available when payments are made through UPI, net banking, or credit/debit cards issued by Air India’s banking partners.

In addition to fare-related benefits, students are encouraged to enroll in Air India’s revamped loyalty program, the ‘Maharaja Club.’ Members earn reward points on every trip, which can be redeemed for complimentary tickets, upgrades, and other perks. Booking directly through Air India’s platforms can yield up to 33% additional reward points, enhancing the overall value proposition for student travelers.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, emphasized the airline’s commitment to supporting students: “With these new student fare benefits, we are making it easier and more affordable for young travelers to explore the world, connect with different cultures, and broaden their horizons.”

Operating non-stop flights between India and 42 international destinations, along with services to 49 cities within India, Air India’s initiative is set to benefit students traveling to and from countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. This move underscores the airline’s dedication to enhancing the travel experience for students, facilitating their educational journeys, and promoting cultural exchange.
