Bajaj Auto has initiated its global expansion by establishing a new manufacturing plant in Manaus, Brazil. The facility, inaugurated recently, marks Bajaj’s entry into Brazil’s market, expanding its production footprint to over 100 countries worldwide. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the governor of Amazon state, along with dignitaries, dealers, and business partners.
Initially focusing on sourcing, assembling, and testing Dominor bikes, the Manaus facility spans 9,600 square meters with a current capacity of 20,000 units annually, projected to increase to 50,000 units. It features advanced facilities for engine and vehicle assembly, equipped with automated production lines and integrated quality control systems.
The plant, which received ISO certification for its production processes, underscores Bajaj Auto’s commitment to quality and efficiency. Bajaj do Brasil, the company’s Brazilian subsidiary, has integrated local suppliers and initiated sourcing of motorcycle parts from within Brazil.
Looking ahead, Bajaj Auto plans to expand production to include other bike series like Pulsar, leveraging its strategic investment in the region. Meanwhile, in India, Bajaj Auto is preparing to launch the world’s first CNG-powered bike on July 5, further demonstrating its innovation and commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
