The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a significant 53% increase in the prize pool for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, elevating the total to $6.9 million. This tournament marks a historic return, as Pakistan hosts an ICC event for the first time in three decades.

• Champions: The tournament winners will receive $2.24 million.
• Runners-Up: The second-place team will earn $1.12 million.
• Semi-Finalists: Teams reaching the semi-finals but not advancing will each take home $560,000.
• Group Stage Performances: Victories in the group stage are valued at over $34,000 per win, emphasizing the importance of each match.
• Placement Rewards: Teams finishing fifth or sixth will each receive $350,000, while those in seventh and eighth positions will get $140,000.
• Participation Fee: All eight participating teams are guaranteed a base amount of $125,000, acknowledging their qualification and participation.

The 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy is particularly noteworthy as it brings international cricket back to Pakistan on a grand scale. The country last hosted an ICC event in 1996. Due to geopolitical considerations, India has opted not to play its matches on Pakistani soil. Tournament Format and Schedule

The Champions Trophy 2025 will feature eight top ODI teams, divided into two groups of four. Each team will play three group matches, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals. In total, 15 matches will be played over a span of 19 days, commencing on February 19, 2025, and culminating in the final on March 9, 2025.
