Indian archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Rishabh Yadav delivered a stunning performance to secure gold in the compound mixed team event at Stage 1 of the 2025 Archery World Cup. The duo displayed precision and poise to edge past their rivals in a closely contested final, finishing with a 153-151 win.

Their triumph comes at a pivotal time, with the mixed team compound event set to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Games in Los Angeles. This win not only adds to India’s medal tally but also boosts its standing in the global archery arena.

🎯 Flawless Campaign From Start to Finish

Seeded fifth at the start of the tournament, the Indian pair began their gold-medal journey by defeating Spain 156-149 in the opening round. They followed it up with another strong showing, edging out Denmark 156-154.

The semifinals saw them dominate Slovenia with a 159-155 victory, setting up a thrilling gold medal clash. In the final, the pair entered the last round with a narrow 115-114 lead. Under intense pressure, they fired two perfect 10s, an X, and a 9 in the final four arrows. Their opponents faltered slightly with 9, 9, 8, and an X, sealing the win for India.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam, one of India’s most decorated archers, once again showcased why she remains a driving force in the sport. Known for her calm under pressure and unwavering accuracy, her leadership proved invaluable.
