Abu Dhabi Airports has unveiled a major boost in connectivity with IndiGo’s launch of three new direct routes from Zayed International Airport (AUH). The Indian airline will now operate flights to Mangaluru (IXE), Tiruchirappalli (TRZ), and Coimbatore (CJB), increasing their total number of routes to 13.

This strategic expansion comes amid a 33.5% rise in passenger traffic reported by Abu Dhabi Airports for the first half of 2024, signaling robust growth prospects.

Nathalie Jongma, VP of Aviation Development at Abu Dhabi Airports, emphasized the significance of this development. “This move is not just about more flights; it’s about fostering connections for families, creating new business opportunities, and enhancing our successful partnership with IndiGo,” she remarked.

Sanjeev Ramdas, EVP of Airport Operations & Customer Services at IndiGo, shared his enthusiasm for the new routes. “This expansion not only enhances our presence but also highlights the crucial role of Abu Dhabi as a key hub for our travelers. Zayed International Airport is the perfect partner for us to broaden our global network and offer more travel choices,” Ramdas stated.
