The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India has dismissed recent comments by United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, accusing the US of distorting regional realities and diverting attention from its own destabilizing policies. Iran emphasized its willingness to supply energy resources, including to India, but blamed US sanctions on Iranian oil exports for disrupting the global energy market. The Iranian Embassy highlighted that the sanctions have not only impacted oil exports but have also hindered access to medicines and medical equipment for Iranian patients.
Iran criticized the United States and Israel for creating instability in the region and jeopardizing maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz through military actions. Addressing concerns about its nuclear program, Iran reaffirmed that its nuclear activities are peaceful and monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Iran asserted its right to peaceful nuclear technology, stating it will not relinquish this internationally recognized right.
The Iranian Embassy asserted that despite pressure and military aggression from the US and Israel, Iran has remained resilient, thwarting attempts to alter its political system. The statement followed remarks by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on progress in indirect negotiations with Iran, emphasizing Washington’s stance against Iran possessing nuclear weapons or controlling the Strait of Hormuz. Iran declared its armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
