Paromita Mukherjee from Bengaluru maintained her lead on the second day of the 14th WIGA BPGC Ladies Open Amateur Golf Championship in Mumbai with a total score of 161. However, Mumbai’s Uma Menon is close behind with a score of 162, putting pressure on Paromita for the final day. Anita Punamiya climbed to third place with a score of 166 after a strong performance.
Junior player Vaani Menon is leading in the Silver category with a combined score of 171, followed closely by senior player Rajeshwari Agarwal at 172. The tournament highlights the efforts of the BPGC Ladies Section in providing a platform for women golfers to showcase their skills through meticulous planning and dedication to the sport.
Paromita emerged as the early leader after the first round with a score of 78, closely followed by Uma Menon and Sonaal Chaudhri at 81. In the Silver Division, Punam Kalra leads with 85, followed by Vaani Menon at 86. The Bronze division features Cynthia Sandhu and Minal Sandu from Mumbai with scores of 96 and 98, respectively. A total of 96 golfers are competing in various divisions for top honors.
