Professor Bellamkonda K Kishore, a distinguished academic, innovator, and entrepreneur based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has been appointed as the Vice-President of the NRI Welfare Society, USA Chapter. The formal induction ceremony is scheduled to take place at the University of Oxford in England on May 10, 2024.

In a letter addressed to Dr. Kishore, Deepak Singh, the Convenor of the NRI Welfare Society, expressed enthusiasm about his appointment, stating, “Together we can make India strong and shine.”

The NRI Welfare Society of India aims to strengthen the emotional ties between India and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). It acknowledges the efforts and accomplishments of NRIs and serves as a bridge between them and the Government of India. The Society, registered under the Societies Act, provides a platform for NRIs worldwide and advocates for their rights and concerns.

Dr. Kishore boasts an illustrious career spanning over 40 years in academia, research, and entrepreneurship across Asia, Europe, and the United States. His research in fields like kidney diseases and obesity has yielded significant discoveries and earned him patents for innovative therapies.

He has been recognized by prestigious organizations such as the National Academy of Inventors and has received fellowships from esteemed societies including the American Society of Nephrology and the Royal Society of Biology.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Kishore is also a renowned editor, having founded the Journal of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (JAAPI) and receiving accolades for his editorial contributions.

Transitioning from directing a renowned kidney research program to founding ePurines, Inc., a startup focused on developing therapies for obesity and metabolic syndrome, Dr. Kishore continues to make strides in the medical field. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah Health.

Dr. Kishore emphasizes the importance of passion, perseverance, and patience in achieving success and leading a purposeful life. He shares his wisdom through books and poetry, aiming to inspire the youth to pursue meaningful paths.
