The popular reality show ‘Lock Upp’ is making a comeback with its second season. Scheduled to premiere on June 27, the show’s producers teased the new season through a unique social media campaign featuring mysterious masked figures in various cities, sparking widespread speculation.
Host details and contestant lineup for the upcoming season are yet to be disclosed. Produced by Ektaa Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms in collaboration with Netflix, the show is making a comeback after a hiatus of four years. The first season, hosted by Kangana Ranaut, crowned Munawar Faruqui as the winner.
The show’s previous run was on ALTT, a platform that faced regulatory scrutiny in India for its content deemed inappropriate by authorities. Following a government directive in July 2025, ALTT, along with 24 other OTT platforms, was blocked over alleged violations of IT regulations and laws concerning the portrayal of women. This move, prompted by concerns raised by child and women protection bodies, marked a significant crackdown on adult-oriented streaming services in the country.
