Indian music composer and three-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej has set a Guinness World Record by conducting the largest symphony orchestra to perform the Indian National Anthem. The event featured the 100-piece Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London. Kej assembled a remarkable ensemble of Indian legends, including maestros like Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Rakesh Chaurasia.

Kej also collaborated with Dr. Achyuta Samanta and recorded a choir of 14,000 tribal children from Odisha at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences. This extraordinary event set a new Guinness World Record for the “Largest Singing Lesson.” The performance symbolized the unity and diversity of India, with the children forming a human map of India and the word ‘Bharat’ in Hindi and English.

The recording will be released on August 14th across all streaming platforms and Ricky Kej’s social media. The entire recording will be available royalty-free, provided it remains unedited. Individual versions featuring each maestro will be released after August 15th. The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts celebrated this milestone, reinforcing its position as an embodiment of Indian exceptionalism.

In addition, Kej collaborated with VR filmmaker Sairam Sagiraju to create a Virtual Reality version of this project, available on Apple’s Vision Pro. This innovative rendition allows viewers to immerse themselves in the performance, enhancing the experience through state-of-the-art mixed reality.
