Thane Sky Risers clinched their debut win in the T20 Mumbai Women’s League by defeating SOBO Mumbai Falcons by 33 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The Risers, led by Mansi Patil’s impressive half-century, posted a competitive 159/7. Their disciplined bowling restricted the Falcons to 126/9, handing them their first loss of the season. Despite the defeat, the Falcons have already secured a spot in the final.
Chasing 160, the Falcons faced an early setback with Ashwini Nishad taking two wickets in the first two deliveries. Despite efforts from skipper Riya Chaudhari and Vedika Nikam, the Falcons struggled to build momentum. Prakashika Naik’s 3/25 spell tilted the game in favor of the Risers, dismantling the Falcons’ middle order.
Janhvi Kate briefly revived the Falcons’ chase with a quick 24 off 14 balls, but Trisha Parmar’s 2-17 ensured the Risers’ victory. Earlier, Mansi Patil and Heeya Pandit’s partnership laid the foundation for the Risers’ total. Mansi’s 55 off 37 deliveries, supported by Khushi Bhatia’s 29, propelled them to a competitive score.
In the men’s tournament, Arcs Andheri dominated Bandra Blasters with stellar performances from Arjun Tendulkar and Musheer Khan. Tendulkar’s 3/11 and unbeaten 66, along with Khan’s 1/24 and 54 not out, led Andheri to a 9-wicket victory. The duo’s all-round display restricted Blasters to 144/9 before guiding their team to a comfortable win.
