The UK Home Office has announced the second and final ballot for the India Young Professional Scheme 2024, enabling young Indian nationals to live, work, and study in the UK for up to 24 months. The ballot opens on July 16, 2024, at 13:30 IST and closes on July 18, 2024, at the same time.

Applicants must be aged between 18-30, possess a bachelor’s degree or higher, have savings of GBP 2,530, and no dependent children under 18. In 2024, the UK allocated 3,000 places under this scheme, with most filled during the February ballot. The upcoming July ballot will distribute the remaining spots.

Entry into the ballot is free, and successful applicants must pay GBP 298 for the visa. Unselected applicants can reapply in future ballots. The scheme offers a quicker processing time compared to other visas, providing a streamlined pathway for eligible candidates.

To apply, interested individuals must enter the ballot during the specified dates. If selected, they will receive an invitation to apply for the visa via email within two weeks of the ballot closing. Necessary documents include a valid passport, proof of savings, educational qualifications, TB test results (if applicable), and a police clearance certificate.

This scheme is part of the UK-India Mobility and Migration Partnership signed in May 2021, aimed at enhancing migration arrangements and cooperation on immigration matters between the two countries. Unlike the UK’s ballot system, India’s Employment Visa – E 1 allows eligible individuals to apply throughout the year.
