Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the Central government ministries are taking necessary steps to ensure a smooth NEET-UG re-examination. The re-exam is set for June 21 due to reported discrepancies in the previous May 3 test.
During a visit to the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters, Pradhan emphasized enhanced confidentiality measures for the exam process. He mentioned a recent high-level meeting led by Union Cabinet Secretary T. V. Somanathan involving department secretaries.
Pradhan informed that Chief Ministers of states are actively cooperating, especially in areas needing special attention. He highlighted the involvement of NTA Director General in virtual meetings with state officials to oversee exam preparations.
Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan will conduct a high-level meeting soon to review the exam arrangements. Pradhan also mentioned the reinforcement of NTA’s structure with new officials and collaborative efforts across ministries to tackle potential cyber threats.
Assuring aspirants of a fair exam, Pradhan expressed confidence in NTA’s ability to successfully conduct the test in 551 cities. He pledged timely result declarations to minimize disruptions to students’ learning.
