Padma Bhushan Winners: Entertainment and Arts

Nandamuri Balakrishna
A stalwart of Telugu cinema and a prominent politician, Nandamuri Balakrishna, also known as “Balayya,” received the Padma Bhushan for his significant impact on the film industry. With a career spanning over four decades, Balakrishna has acted in more than 100 films, known for his powerful screen presence and memorable roles in movies like Legend and Simha. His work has not only entertained millions but also contributed to the cultural fabric of Andhra Pradesh.

His storytelling bridges Indian and global narratives, earning him recognition on both national and international platforms.

Ajith Kumar
One of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, Ajith Kumar, received the Padma Bhushan for his achievements in film and his pursuits in sports. Known for his versatility and charisma, Ajith has delivered blockbuster hits such as Veeram, Vedalam, and Nerkonda Paarvai. Beyond acting, he is also an accomplished racer, embodying dedication both on and off screen.

Pankaj Udhas (Posthumous)
The legendary ghazal singer was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan. Pankaj Udhas’ soulful voice and timeless classics like “Chitthi Aayi Hai” have left an indelible mark on Indian music. His career, spanning several decades, popularized ghazals among mainstream audiences and inspired generations of musicians.

Padma Shri Winners: Music, Acting, and Performing Arts

Jaspinder Narula
Renowned playback and devotional singer Jaspinder Narula was awarded the Padma Shri. Known for her powerful vocals in songs like “Pyar To Hona Hi Tha” and her contributions to Punjabi and Bollywood music, she has enriched India’s musical heritage.
