The cinematic wheels are turning for one of India’s most awaited mythological epics — Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film, which has been in the works for years, has just crossed a major milestone. The title announcement video, marking the beginning of promotions, has officially been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), hinting that the first glimpse could be just around the corner.

A Grand Beginning: CBFC Certifies Title Video

The 2-minute-36-second title video, officially titled Ramayana 3D: Title Announcement, received a ‘U’ certificate from the CBFC’s Mumbai office on May 5. This certification marks the official start of the promotional journey for what promises to be one of the grandest visual spectacles in Indian cinematic history.

With the first teaser now approved, audiences are eagerly awaiting the unveiling — which is expected to offer a striking preview of the scale, vision, and emotion behind this magnum opus.

A Two-Part Epic with a Vision Beyond Borders

Planned as a two-part saga, Ramayana will release Part 1 during Diwali 2026, with Part 2 following in Diwali 2027. The film is produced by Namit Malhotra, CEO of Prime Focus Studios, who has described the project as a dream nurtured for over a decade. His aim is to craft the most authentic and visually rich retelling of the epic ever attempted, combining storytelling reverence with state-of-the-art cinematic technology.

Malhotra’s passion for the project is evident, as he aims to take India’s greatest epic global — not just through scale but through sincerity and soul.

Casting the Divine: Ranbir, Sai Pallavi, and Yash

Though the makers are yet to make an official casting announcement, all signs point to a stellar cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Kannada superstar Yash as Ravana. Set photos and industry chatter have only fueled excitement, and Yash has already confirmed his involvement, calling Ravana one of the most intriguing characters he’s ever taken on.

Yash’s role is not limited to acting — he’s also stepping in as co-producer, determined to position Ramayana for a global audience.

What to Expect from the Title Video

While the exact release date of the title announcement video remains under wraps, it is expected to introduce viewers to the aesthetic and spiritual essence of the film. The video is likely to set the tone for the mythological world, blending grandeur with emotional gravitas — a hallmark of Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial style.

A Cinematic Legacy in the Making

With the CBFC’s green light, the wait for Ramayana’s first visual is nearly over. As fans count down to the reveal, excitement continues to build for what could be the defining mythological saga of modern Indian cinema.

This is not just a film; it’s a cultural event. And with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash fronting the story of divinity, love, and dharma, Ramayana might just be the epic retelling that a new generation has been waiting for.
