In a groundbreaking development, India has embraced a new era in healthcare with the approval of Nadi Tarangini, the country’s first Ayurvedic AI-powered diagnostic device. Developed by Pune-based startup Atreya Innovations, this device seamlessly integrates centuries-old Ayurvedic principles with cutting-edge artificial intelligence to revolutionize diagnostic practices in traditional medicine.

Nadi Tarangini is a highly sophisticated pulse diagnostic tool, meticulously designed after six years of research at IIT Bombay under the guidance of Aniruddha Joshi. This device uses ultra-sensitive sensors paired with advanced algorithms to monitor 22 vital health parameters based on Ayurvedic principles, such as the balance of Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), digestive health, stress levels, and overall well-being. Its primary function is to provide Ayurvedic practitioners with precise, data-driven insights, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies.

One of the most remarkable features of Nadi Tarangini is its ability to generate detailed health reports in multiple languages, including 10 Indian languages, making it accessible to a broad demographic. With an impressive 85% diagnostic accuracy, the device is already being used in over 1,250 Ayurvedic clinics across India and has earned recognition globally with patents granted in countries like the United States, Europe, and Indonesia.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) approval marks a significant step toward standardizing Ayurvedic practices, ensuring that they meet modern healthcare standards. This milestone not only boosts the credibility of Ayurveda but also opens the door for its integration into global healthcare systems. Nadi Tarangini promises to transcend geographical barriers, making holistic Ayurvedic healthcare available to a global audience.

The device’s inventor, Aniruddha Joshi, is quick to emphasize the transformative potential of Nadi Tarangini, noting that it bridges the gap between traditional Ayurveda and modern healthcare. This innovative technology ensures the precision of diagnostics, which was once dependent on the practitioner’s experience, now backed by advanced technology. It enables Ayurveda to move beyond its traditional limitations and align with the fast-evolving needs of contemporary medicine.

The device is priced at ₹55,000 and is manufactured at Atreya Innovations’ facility in Pune. With seed funding of ₹5 crore, the startup is committed to scaling production, expanding its distribution network, and further enhancing the device’s capabilities. The future of holistic healthcare looks promising, as the fusion of ancient wisdom with artificial intelligence could pave the way for more accessible and personalized wellness solutions worldwide.
