A Global Confluence of Indian Diaspora Leaders

The United Arab Emirates recently hosted the inaugural ‘Forum for Good’ by Indiaspora, an event envisioned as a “Davos for the Indian Diaspora.” Bringing together over 500 influential leaders from 35 countries, the forum aimed to strengthen global collaboration among Indian-origin professionals, innovators, and changemakers.

Delegates from diverse backgrounds—business, technology, healthcare, climate science, politics, and philanthropy—gathered to discuss pressing global challenges and explore ways to drive positive impact. Countries represented included the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Greece, Belgium, South Africa, Suriname, and many more.

Diverse Participation and Visionary Leadership

One of the forum’s standout features was its multidisciplinary approach, encouraging thought leaders from different fields to exchange ideas. Participants ranged from drone manufacturers and AI startup founders to climate scientists and social impact entrepreneurs, fostering unique collaborations.

The event’s organizers emphasized the importance of leveraging diaspora expertise to address critical global issues, including sustainable development, emerging technologies, and equitable economic growth. The forum became a platform for action-oriented discussions, breaking barriers between industries and nations.

Engaging Discussions on Global Challenges

The forum featured thought-provoking sessions and panel discussions, covering a wide range of impactful topics:

  • 100 Ways to Change the World – Highlighting the growing influence of the Indian diaspora in business, politics, arts, and social innovation.
  • Will AI Eat the World? – Examining the rise of artificial intelligence and its transformative effects across industries.
  • Extreme Innovation – Showcasing cutting-edge advancements in healthcare, climate solutions, and engineering.
  • Tech for the Public Good – Exploring India’s pioneering role in developing digital public infrastructure for social welfare.
These sessions underscored the forum’s commitment to fostering leadership, innovation, and global cooperation.

Strategic Venue Selection and Cultural Integration

The UAE, with its strategic location and status as a global hub, was a fitting choice for the forum’s debut. Events were held across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, at iconic venues such as the Louvre Museum and the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.

By integrating cultural heritage with forward-thinking dialogue, the forum reflected the rich legacy of the Indian diaspora and its contributions to global progress.

Looking Ahead: Building on Success

The success of the first-ever ‘Forum for Good’ has set the stage for future gatherings, with participants expressing enthusiasm for making it an annual global platform.

As the Indian diaspora continues to expand its influence across sectors, this forum has reinforced the idea that collaboration and collective action can drive meaningful change. With a strong foundation now in place, the event is expected to become a key global meeting point for Indian-origin leaders and changemakers.

Indiaspora’s ‘Forum for Good’ has not only showcased the potential of the Indian diaspora but has also laid the groundwork for future initiatives that drive global impact.
