‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC) first aired in July 2000 and revolutionized Indian television by blending knowledge with entertainment. Over the years, the show has evolved with new segments and interactive elements, ensuring continued engagement with audiences.

The 16th season, which premiered in 2024, introduced features like ‘Super Sawaal’ and ‘India Challenger Week,’ adding new dimensions to the gameplay. The ongoing ‘Gyan Ka Rajat Mahotsav’ celebration, marking 25 years of KBC, has brought back former contestants, showcasing inspiring stories of transformation and success.

One such remarkable journey is that of Babita Tade, fondly called ‘Khichdi Kaku’, who transitioned from a humble school cook to a teacher after winning on KBC. Stories like hers reflect the show’s profound impact on ordinary lives, making it more than just a game show.

Amitabh Bachchan: The Face of KBC

Amitabh Bachchan’s deep voice, unmatched charisma, and warm presence have made him synonymous with KBC. Since its inception, except for a single season in 2007 when Shah Rukh Khan hosted, Bachchan has been the heart and soul of the show.

At 82, he remains a commanding presence on television, but recent hints about scaling down his professional commitments have fueled discussions about a possible successor.

Who Could Be the Next KBC Host?

A recent survey gauged public opinion on who could potentially take over KBC in the future. The leading names in the discussion include:

  • Shah Rukh Khan – 63% preference
  • Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – 51%
  • M.S. Dhoni – 37%
  • Harsha Bhogle – 32%
  • Anil Kapoor – 15%

Interestingly, 42% of respondents believe Amitabh Bachchan should continue hosting for as long as he is able, emphasizing his deep connection with the audience.

The Road Ahead for KBC

While there has been no official word on a change in hosting, the speculation highlights how crucial Amitabh Bachchan is to KBC’s identity. The show’s 25th year is a moment to celebrate its rich history while also contemplating its future.

Regardless of who takes the stage next, one thing remains certain—Kaun Banega Crorepati will continue to inspire, educate, and change lives, just as it has for the past 25 years.
