Celebrating Excellence: Indian American Scholars Receive National Recognition
Seven brilliant Indian American students have been selected for the highly prestigious 2025 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, a program that honors the achievements and potential of immigrants and their children in the United States. These recipients will receive up to $90,000 in funding to support their graduate education in top-tier institutions.

A Legacy of Empowering Immigrant Voices

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships were created to recognize and nurture the talents of immigrants and first-generation Americans who demonstrate extraordinary creativity, initiative, and drive. Every year, 30 fellows are selected from a competitive national pool to receive financial support and join a lifelong community of changemakers.

This year’s cohort continues that tradition, spotlighting exceptional individuals pursuing fields as varied as medicine, public policy, neuroscience, and law. The seven Indian American fellows represent not only academic excellence but also deep commitment to community impact, equity, and innovation.

Meet the 2025 Indian American Fellows

These seven fellows are pursuing graduate programs at institutions such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and MIT. Their work spans a broad spectrum of disciplines:

  • A physician-scientist focused on health equity in marginalized populations.
  • A legal scholar advocating for immigrant rights and justice reform.
  • A computational neuroscientist developing AI tools to diagnose neurological disorders.
  • A climate policy expert shaping equitable environmental strategies.
  • A biomedical engineer advancing research in regenerative medicine.
  • A tech innovator applying machine learning in public health.
  • A social entrepreneur creating education pathways for underrepresented communities.
  • Each fellow brings a unique story of resilience, vision, and a desire to shape the future of their respective fields.

Fostering the Leaders of Tomorrow

The fellowship program not only provides financial assistance but also connects fellows to an empowering network of over 800 alumni, including prominent figures in medicine, law, academia, business, and public service. This dynamic community continues to influence critical sectors across the country.

The inclusion of these seven Indian American fellows in the 2025 class reflects the continued contributions of the Indian diaspora to American society. With this support, these scholars are positioned to expand their impact and redefine the boundaries of what immigrant communities can achieve.
