Dr. Bellamkonda Kishore is a distinguished medical professional and dedicated community leader. His academic journey commenced in India, where he earned his MBBS in 1975 and MD in 1980, followed by specialized research training in renal pathophysiology in India and Japan. His scholarly pursuits led him to obtain a Ph.D. in renal cell biology from the Université Catholique de Louvain and Christian de Duve Institute of Cellular Pathology in Brussels, Belgium, complemented by a tenure at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, NIH, Bethesda, USA.
Dr. Kishore’s academic footprint extends to the United States, where as a faculty member, his groundbreaking research in purinergic signaling has significantly advanced understanding in renal physiology and identified novel therapeutic targets. His work has earned him numerous patents and recognition, including a Superior Performance Award and media coverage of his research. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah Health and continues to contribute to the field through his roles in various prestigious journals and societies.
Beyond academia, Dr. Kishore’s commitment to community service is profound. He has held leadership positions in numerous cultural and charitable organizations, actively contributing to initiatives both in the United States and India.
