The trailer for the much-anticipated Malayalam action thriller Bazooka, starring Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon, has finally been unveiled, and it promises an electrifying cinematic experience. Directed by debutant Deeno Dennis, the film is set to release on April 10, 2025, and has already created a buzz with its intriguing premise, stylish visuals, and powerhouse performances.

A Game of Wits and Mystery

The trailer introduces us to Gautham Vasudev Menon’s character, Benjamin Joshua, an efficient and no-nonsense ACP of Cochin. The narrative begins with a voiceover highlighting his capable police team. However, the focus soon shifts to Mammootty’s enigmatic character, described as “a nobody but definitely a somebody—classy, sleek.” The trailer hints at him being more than just a troublemaker, portraying shades of grey that add complexity to his role.

As the story unfolds, we are drawn into a series of crimes and high-stakes confrontations between Benjamin and Mammootty’s character. The dynamic between these two central figures remains shrouded in mystery, leaving viewers intrigued about their relationship—are they adversaries or reluctant allies?

Mammootty’s Commanding Presence

Mammootty once again proves why he is regarded as a megastar. His portrayal exudes intensity, calmness, and an aura of danger all at once. Whether delivering sharp dialogues or engaging in action-packed sequences, he commands attention in every frame. One standout moment in the trailer features Mammootty responding to Gautham’s taunt with a witty yet menacing retort: “Try irking a barking dog; your belly will turn to jelly from all the vaccine shots!”

Gautham Vasudev Menon Shines as the Tough Cop

Known for his directorial brilliance, Gautham Vasudev Menon steps into the shoes of an actor with remarkable ease. His portrayal of ACP Benjamin Joshua is fierce and authoritative, perfectly complementing Mammootty’s enigmatic character. Their on-screen chemistry adds another layer of excitement to the film.

Visuals and Background Score: A Cinematic Treat

The trailer is a visual spectacle, thanks to Nimish Ravi and Roby Varghese Raj’s stunning cinematography. From gritty urban landscapes to intense action sequences, every frame is meticulously crafted to enhance the film’s thrilling atmosphere. Adding to this is Saeed Abbas’ gripping background score, which elevates the tension and drama several notches higher.

A Stellar Ensemble Cast

Apart from Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bazooka boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Babu Antony, Neeta Pillai, Gayathiri Iyer, Divya Pillai, Shine Tom Chacko, Sidharth Bharathan, Iswarya Menon, and Sharaf U Dheen. Each character appears to play a pivotal role in this intricate game of wits and deception.

What Makes Bazooka Stand Out?

  1. Unique Premise: The film presents itself as a “game” where there are no clear lines between good and evil—only the ultimate goal of salvation.
  2. Powerful Performances: Mammootty’s commanding presence paired with Gautham Menon’s fierce portrayal ensures an engaging watch.
  3. Intriguing Dynamics: The mysterious relationship between the two leads keeps viewers guessing about their motives throughout the trailer.
  4. Stylish Execution: With top-notch cinematography and an impactful background score, Bazooka promises to be a visual and auditory treat.
