Release Date: May 30, 2025
Language: Telugu
Genre: Action Drama
Director: Vijay Kanakamedala

Bhairavam brings together three dynamic actors—Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Nara Rohith, and Manchu Manoj—in a film that explores the themes of loyalty, power, and the unraveling of deep-rooted friendships. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, this emotional action drama offers moments of grit and intensity while grappling with some predictable storytelling. With high production values and a powerful cast, Bhairavam aims to strike a chord with the masses.

Plot Overview

At the heart of Bhairavam is a story of brotherhood turned sour. Lifelong friends Gajapathi Varma (Manchu Manoj) and Varadha (Nara Rohith) find their bond shaken when an orphan named Seenu (Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas) becomes entwined in their lives. Years later, the trio faces external threats when a corrupt politician and his enforcers set their sights on sacred temple land. As power, politics, and personal egos collide, what follows is a turbulent journey of betrayal, bloodshed, and broken promises.

Performances

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas

This film marks a turning point for Bellamkonda. As Seenu, he balances vulnerability with raw aggression and delivers one of his most emotionally nuanced performances to date. His character arc—ranging from a quiet survivor to a fierce avenger—is portrayed with commendable intensity.

Nara Rohith

Understated yet impactful, Rohith shines in a composed role that demands emotional restraint. His subtle expressions and natural screen presence add depth to the film, grounding it in a certain realism.

Manchu Manoj

In a role brimming with darkness and power, Manoj brings a magnetic intensity. His strong voice modulation, piercing eyes, and menacing calm elevate the antagonistic layers of his character. It’s a comeback of sorts that fans will appreciate.

Divya Pillai & Supporting Cast

Divya Pillai gets a meaty part and does justice to it. Sampath Raj and Ajay also impress in supporting roles. However, Aditi Shankar, Aanandi, and Vennela Kishore are underutilized, their characters lacking development and screen presence.

Direction & Technical Aspects

Direction

Vijay Kanakamedala presents Bhairavam as a remake with a familiar structure, but he adds his touch through emotionally driven action sequences. While the premise holds potential, the screenplay could have been tighter. The second half loses steam due to predictable developments and underexplored subplots.

Cinematography

Hari K Vedantam captures the intensity of confrontations and the grandeur of temple locations effectively. His visuals align with the film’s tone, maintaining a gritty realism.

Music & BGM

Sricharan Pakala’s background score gives emotional weight to key scenes, especially during intense confrontations. The songs, however, fall flat and don’t significantly elevate the story.

Editing & Production

Chota K Prasad’s editing feels stretched in the latter half. Still, the film maintains a strong production design, with grand sets and well-executed stunts enhancing the cinematic experience.

Highlights

  • Bellamkonda’s emotional transformation scene
  • Interval action block and climax confrontations
  • Powerful trio dynamics in the first half
  • Manchu Manoj’s fierce screen presence

What Doesn’t Work

  • Predictable plot progression
  • Sluggish pacing post-interval
  • Weak emotional depth in friendships

Final Verdict

Bhairavam is a solid mass-action entertainer that succeeds in parts. What makes it engaging is the strength of its lead performances—particularly Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’s growth, Nara Rohith’s composed delivery, and Manchu Manoj’s intense comeback. Though the story follows a predictable arc and suffers from pacing issues, the emotional beats and action-packed sequences provide enough to keep you engaged.

⭐ Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

If you’re a fan of high-octane drama, emotionally driven characters, and action set pieces, Bhairavam is worth a watch—just go in with moderated expectations.
