Kriya Yoga offers a powerful, direct path to Self-realization for sincere spiritual seekers. This practice is rooted in several yogic traditions described in the Bhagavad Gita:
- Karma Yoga: Focuses on actions of the soul, both external and internal, with detachment from their outcomes.
- Jnana Yoga: Centers on intellectual discipline leading to wisdom and inner freedom.
- Bhakti Yoga: Cultivates unconditional love, gratitude, and joy through oneness with creation and cosmic consciousness.
Kriya Yoga is non-sectarian and designed for both householders and monks. It emphasizes that every action (‘kri’) is performed by the indwelling soul (‘ya’), making work a form of worship. By maintaining constant awareness of the soul’s power, practitioners can control the mind and achieve liberation.
The Kriya technique highlights the relationship between breath and mind. Mastery over breath leads to mastery over the mind, bringing practitioners to the breathless state, which is the state of samadhi and realization of the Absolute.
