Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center: Celebrating 58 Years of Yoga in New York
The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center has been a cornerstone of the New York City community for the past 58 years. As part of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, a worldwide organization founded in 1957 by Swami Vishnudevananda, our mission is to spread the authentic teachings of yoga.
Swami Vishnudevananda was one of the first yogis to bring yoga to the West, tasked by his guru, Swami Sivananda, a revered saint of India. In honor of his guru, Swami Vishnu named the organization after him, driven by deep love and devotion.
Our center offers a variety of yoga classes, workshops, and teacher training courses designed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, you will find a welcoming community and a serene space to deepen your practice.
