About the event
The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is bringing the vibrant spirit of India to New York City with the inaugural India Weekend at Lincoln Center, from September 12 to 14, 2025. This first-of-its-kind celebration will showcase India’s cultural richness through music, theatre, dance, fashion, and food—offering a powerful expression of India’s heritage on a global stage.
Event Highlights
1. The Grand Swagat – Red Carpet Opening Night
An exclusive, invite-only red carpet evening at the David H. Koch Theatre kicks off the weekend with glamour and grandeur. The event will feature:
Swadesh Fashion Show curated by Manish Malhotra – A tribute to Indian textiles and artisan traditions.
Culinary journey by Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna, showcasing Indian cuisine from ancient to modern.
2. The Great Indian Musical: Civilisation to Nation
Premiering in the US for the first time, this is India’s largest theatrical production, directed by Feroz Abbas Khan. The show captures India’s history from 5000 BC to independence in 1947.
