- Born in Calcutta in 1959, Amit Roy learned music from his father, a renowned sitar maker, and later studied under Santosh Banerjee and Pandit Nikhil Banerjee. Highly praised by the Indian media for his performance reminiscent of Nikhil Banerjee, he now resides in Nagoya, teaching students globally.
