Chennai, May 14 (IANS) Actor Sasikumar, who is now basking in the success of his recently released film ‘Tourist Family’, has said that he will not increase his salary as that is bound to increase the budget of a film.
Speaking in the success meet of the film, directed by young Abishan Jeevinth, Sasikumar said that several journalists had asked him if he would be increasing his pay now that his film had emerged a superhit.”Definitely not. I will not increase my salary. It will continue to remain the same. I give you my assurance on this count. Why I am not increasing is because when I increase the salary, the budget of the film too will increase,” he said.”What is making me really happy is that I have got such a resounding victory after several years. You all know how much this film collected on its first day. How much did this film collect on its first day? Let’s talk the truth,” he said, urging actors and filmmakers to first tell actors the truth about how much their films collected.”Only when you tell them the truth will actors not hike their pay. This film collected Rs 2.5 crores on its first day. I have a film in my career, whose entire collections were only that much. I got to know about it. So, I I have a film that has only made Rs 2.5 crores and this film which has made several crores. Among all my films, ‘Kutti Puli’ and ‘Sundarapandian’ had the highest collections. This film’s collections have already exceeded what those two films made. Why I say all this is this victory is bound to give newcomers hope. It will give them the belief to never give up. If this film’s success gives at least five people that hope, I will be happy.”The film, which released simulatenously with two other big films — Suriya’s ‘Retro’ and Nani’s ‘Hit: The Third Case’, has still managed to emerge a phenomenal success making several times more the money that was invested in it.‘Tourist Family’, which hit screens on May 1, is a feel-good family entertainer that features Sasikumar and Simran in the lead. New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) Popular singer-composer Akhil Sachdeva feels Bollywood hasn’t fully recognized his talent, which is why he creates and sings his own songs. He believes God gifted him this ability and hopes that good composers will one day believe in his voice and collaborate with him.
Asked how does he handle the pressure of expectations in an industry that’s always evolving, Akhil, who belted out hits such as “Tera Ban Jaunga,” “Mere Liye” and “Humsafar” told IANS: “I’m that kind of a person, I keep myself away from things which are outside my or beyond my limitations.”“So I give all and everything to what I can in my capabilities and what’s there in my control and mind and that’s making music,” he added.Akhil feels grateful for his journey but believes the film industry hasn’t yet fully recognised his talent, despite him creating most of his songs on his own.“So other than that, I don’t have a control on things and talking about the film industry, I would say it’s been amazing and I don’t know, but as of now, I feel they’ve not given me my due. They’ve not, most of the songs, most of the songs are composed, written and sung by myself. New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao revealed that he once considered taking up Science in the 11th grade, driven by family influence, but is now thankful that he didn’t go down that path.
Talking about if there is a “Bhool Chuk” that he made and is thankful for, Rajkummar told IANS: “For some reason, in Class 11, I wanted to take Science because I think the atmosphere at home was like that my elder brother and even most of my cousins were science students.”Rajkummar shared how he briefly considered Science due to peer influence, despite his passion for acting.“But I was always into acting — I used to do stage performances, dance, martial arts — but it was just that everyone else was taking Science, so I thought I should too,” said the actor, who completed his 12th grade from S.N. Sidheshwar Senior. Sec Public School, where he participated in school plays.The 40-year-old star expressed relief for not pursuing Science, as his true passion lies in acting.“Thank God that didn’t happen. I had no interest in it, and there would have been pressure to study a lot.
