A 14-year-old girl in Erafatpur, East Midnapore district, was brought back to life after being declared dead by multiple doctors, thanks to the efforts of an ICU ambulance technician. Following the miraculous incident, she received treatment at Contai Sub-district Hospital for seven days before being discharged.
The girl, from Erafatepur village, had ingested pesticide a week prior due to family issues concerning her studies. Despite being pronounced dead at a private nursing home in Tamluk, East Midnapore district, and confirmed dead by another doctor in Contai, she was found to have a faint pulse by ICU ambulance technician Rabindranath Mandal.
Initially believed to be deceased, preparations for her burial had commenced, including reciting prayers and broadcasting the news of her death. However, Mandal’s keen observation of a faint pulse led to her being rushed back to Contai Sub-district Hospital, where she was admitted to the ICU and eventually made a full recovery after seven days of treatment.
Expressing gratitude for her second chance at life, the girl personally honored the technicians and doctors who contributed to her revival, sparking a wave of astonishment in the local community. Hospital Superintendent Arup Ratan Karan mentioned that they would investigate the incident and take appropriate action against the doctors who had prematurely declared her dead.
