As a response to the disruption in LPG supplies due to the Iran war, around 6,000 PNG consumers have voluntarily surrendered their LPG connections. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry official commended these individuals for their contribution in making more LPG available to those without access to piped natural gas.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Secretary Neeraj Mittal encouraged others with PNG connections to follow suit and surrender their LPG connections to support those in need. Despite the geopolitical challenges affecting supply chains, over 54 lakh LPG refills have been delivered, and domestic LPG cylinder deliveries remain unaffected.

To ensure proper distribution and prevent diversion at the distributor level, Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) based deliveries have significantly increased. Refineries are operating at high capacity with ample crude inventories, supporting increased domestic LPG production to meet consumer demands.
