The 6th General K. Sundarji Memorial Lecture took place at the Sapta Shakti Auditorium in Jaipur, hosted by the Mechanised Infantry Centre & School (MIC&S) in partnership with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS). Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of Sapta Shakti Command, delivered the keynote address, stressing the importance of strategic autonomy in today’s geopolitically volatile and complex security landscape.
Highlighting the necessity of strategic autonomy amid increasing global competition and conflicts, the event paid tribute to General Krishnaswamy Sundarji for his influential military leadership and strategic vision. Eminent speakers like Ambassador Pankaj Saran and Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh shared insights on safeguarding India’s decision-making sovereignty in a turbulent global setting, focusing on various aspects including foreign policy recalibration, emerging technologies, and maritime security in the Indo-Pacific.
The seminar underscored the critical need for resilience in key domains such as technology, energy, cyber, and secure supply chains for contemporary strategic autonomy. MIC&S, a leading Indian Army training institution, was acknowledged for its expertise in Infantry Combat Vehicles (ICVs) and mechanised warfare tactics, catering to personnel from various military branches and offering advanced courses. The event concluded with a call for intellectual rigor in addressing modern geopolitical challenges and a commitment to fortifying India’s strategic position.
