India’s Abhay Singh has been named the Men’s Player of the Year 2025 by the Asian Squash Federation, while Anahat Singh has clinched the top honor in the girls’ junior category. The Indian men’s team was also recognized as the Team of the Year for securing a bronze medal at the World Junior Team Championships 2025 in Egypt.
Abhay, currently ranked World No. 25, boasts an impressive record with multiple medals at the Asian Games and titles at the Asian Squash Championships. Anahat, ranked World No. 20, has excelled internationally, winning medals at the Asian Games and Asian Championships. In 2025, she earned a bronze at the World Junior Championships in Cairo and contributed to India’s victory at the mixed team World Cup.
In 2022, Indian players Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinappa were honored by the ASF. Abhay and Anahat recently triumphed at the Indian Open 2026, with Abhay defeating Veer Chotrani in the men’s final and Anahat overpowering Hana Moataz in the women’s final.
Abhay displayed dominance in the men’s final, winning in straight sets against Chotrani. Anahat also showcased her prowess, securing victory in the women’s final after a strong performance against Hana Moataz.
