Abhishek Kumar, a 24-year-old golfer from Panchkula, stunned the competition with a remarkable eight-under 64 in the final round of the INR 25 lakh DP World PGTI NexGen 2026 tournament at Aravalli Golf Club in Faridabad, Haryana. Starting the day tied for 10th place, Abhishek’s flawless round, featuring eight birdies, secured him his first professional win with a total score of seven-under 209.
Overnight leader Aditya Raj Singh Chahal faltered in the final round, carding a 74 to finish second at five-under 211, while Jujhar Singh claimed third place at two-under 214. Abhishek’s exceptional performance included a streak of five consecutive birdies and precise tee shots that set up crucial birdie opportunities.
Reflecting on his victory, Abhishek credited his strong driving, iron play, and chipping for the win, expressing gratitude to his sponsor for the support. This triumph comes after a disappointing showing at the DP World PGTI Qualifying School in January, boosting Abhishek’s confidence for future competitions.
