The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau caught an Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department accepting a bribe in Pulwama district. The ACB seized a PHE Mechanical Engineer taking a bribe of Rs 12,000 in the Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Manzoor Ahmad Dar, the accused individual, was apprehended by the ACB following a complaint alleging that he solicited illegal payments for official duties. The Executive Engineer was apprehended red-handed while receiving the bribe and was subsequently detained.
This arrest is part of the ACB’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption in government departments and uphold accountability in public services. A case has been filed under the relevant laws, and further investigations are in progress.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau is mandated to tackle corruption among government officials, with a focus on investigating and prosecuting individuals involved in bribery, corruption, and possession of disproportionate assets.
