Actor Aditya Uppal portrayed ASP Omar Haider of the Lyari Task Force in Aditya Dhar’s films “Dhurandhar” and “Dhurandhar: The Revenge.” To embody the character effectively, Aditya engaged in thorough research, including gun training. He extensively studied YouTube content to grasp the character’s mannerisms and perspectives, aiming for a deep understanding.
Aditya shared, “I delved into various YouTube videos and materials provided by the editorial team to comprehend the characters’ backgrounds, mannerisms, and speech patterns. Being a writer, I focused on understanding the character’s development. Certain scenes, especially those involving guns, required special preparation, leading me to undergo gun training.”
In the films, Aditya’s character was associated with the Lyari Task Force under SP Chaudhary Aslam, portrayed by Sanjay Dutt, resulting in most of his scenes being with him. Reflecting on his experience working with Sanjay Dutt, Aditya expressed admiration, saying, “It was a delightful experience collaborating with Sanjay Dutt, sir. I conveyed my admiration for him during our first meeting, mentioning my fondness for his movies ‘Saajan’ and ‘Khalnayak.'”
Aditya praised the film’s director, Aditya Dhar, referring to him as his mentor. He acknowledged the significant impact the director had on his personal and professional growth, stating, “Aditya Dhar has been instrumental in shaping my acting and filmmaking approach. He emphasizes the importance of actors understanding their roles and shot requirements, ensuring their comfort. His vision aligns with international cinema standards.”
