Rinku’s move to seek work in web series mirrors a similar step taken by veteran actress Neena Gupta in the past, who had also resorted to social media to seek acting roles. Neena had previously shared her quest for good acting opportunities through a social media post, stating, ‘I live in Mumbai and am a good actor looking for good parts to play.’
Notably, actress Divyanka Tripathi had also recently expressed her interest in voice work opportunities through a social media post. She mentioned her willingness to collaborate and contribute her voice to meaningful projects. Rinku Dhawan, recognized for her significant contributions to Indian television, particularly for her role as Chhaya in the renowned show Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, has left a lasting impact in the industry.
Her most recent appearance was in the popular show Anupamaa, where she portrayed a negative character. On a personal note, Rinku was previously married to actor Kiran Karmarkar, who played her on-screen brother in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. The couple, who fell in love during the show’s production, tied the knot in 2001. However, after more than 15 years of marriage, they parted ways and finalized their divorce in 2017, sharing a son together. Rinku also showcased her personality on the reality show Bigg Boss 17, where she received acclaim for her bold and outspoken demeanor.
