Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani expressed sorrow over the passing of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, stating that India was unprepared to bid her farewell and that her music would endure through the ages. Quoting a famous song lyric, Adani emphasized the nation’s reluctance to part with the iconic singer.
Asha Bhosle, who died at the age of 92 in Mumbai, had been hospitalized at Breach Candy Hospital. Maharashtra Culture Minister Ashish Shelar confirmed that her last rites would take place at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Monday at 4 p.m.
The granddaughter of Asha Bhosle, Zanai Bhosle, had earlier revealed that the singer was admitted due to exhaustion and a chest infection, urging privacy for the family. Zanai shared a photo with her grandmother on Instagram, expressing optimism about her recovery.
Asha Bhosle, known for her significant contributions to Indian music, began her playback career in 1943 with the Marathi film “Majha Bal.” With a repertoire of iconic songs like “Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko” and collaborations with renowned composers, she left an indelible mark on the industry.
