Afghan police conducted an operation against illegal drugs in Takhar province, leading to the arrest of two drug smugglers and the recovery of 41 kg of illicit drugs from them. The suspects were caught trying to smuggle 29 kg of opium poppy and 12 kg of hashish out of the province. The Afghan government is committed to eradicating illegal drug production and trafficking to make the nation drug-free.
In a separate incident in Farah province, police apprehended two drug smugglers and seized 75 kilograms of narcotics based on intelligence information. The security forces raided a location in Farah Rod district, capturing the suspects and confiscating 75 kg of raw opium. An assault rifle was also found at the operation site.
Another drug seizure occurred in Herat province, where police intercepted a vehicle and discovered 170 kg of illegal drugs hidden inside. Two alleged drug smugglers were arrested from the car, accused of attempting to traffic the contraband to an undisclosed location. The arrested individuals will face legal proceedings after initial questioning is completed.
Law enforcement efforts against illegal drugs continue in various provinces, with police in eastern Khost province seizing 18 kg of hashish and apprehending an alleged drug trafficker. Authorities are determined to prevent the production and trafficking of illegal drugs in the region.
