Police in Afghanistan’s Ministry for Interior Affairs announced the discovery of illegal drugs, including 300 kg of hashish, leading to the arrest of four drug smugglers. The counter-narcotics police confiscated 300 kilograms of hashish in Helmand province and also found 2,800 intoxicating tablets in Jalalabad city and 1,000 stimulant tablets in Herat. Those involved in smuggling illegal substances have been detained, with authorities warning of legal consequences for drug production and trafficking.
Afghan security forces recently dismantled two heroin processing labs and destroyed over 6,000 kg of illicit drugs in Ghor province. Operations targeted the facilities on the province’s outskirts, resulting in the seizure of 6,140 kg of precursor substances used in heroin production. Nationwide efforts against narcotics trafficking and production are being intensified to eradicate poppy cultivation and heroin manufacturing in Afghanistan.
In separate incidents, Afghan police arrested two drug smugglers in Takhar province, recovering 41 kg of illicit drugs, and apprehended two suspects in Farah province with 75 kilograms of narcotics. Security forces in Farah Rod district seized 75 kg of raw opium and recovered an assault rifle during the operation.
