A significant gathering of district secretaries of the AIADMK Volunteers Rights Recovery Association is scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Vepery, Chennai, led by senior figure Panruti Ramachandran, with former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam (OPS) set to make a crucial political declaration.
With the state Assembly elections approaching, the meeting gains importance amidst speculation surrounding OPS’ future political direction. Recently, OPS renamed the AIADMK Volunteers Rights Recovery Committee to the AIADMK Volunteers Rights Recovery Association, seen as a step towards organizational strengthening before the polls.
The discussions at the meeting may provide insights into OPS’ plans, including his stance on alliances and the broader issue of AIADMK unity. OPS had earlier exited the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), expressing dissatisfaction with his treatment in the BJP.
