Surgical procedures at AIIMS Rajkot have increased significantly from 861 in 2024 to 1,927 in 2025, showcasing a notable expansion in clinical capacity. By February 2026, the institute had already conducted 360 surgeries, maintaining a steady growth trend in operative services.
The hospital attends to approximately 800–900 patients daily and has treated over 8,57,315 patients since its inception. Emergency services are a vital aspect, with 23,147 cases managed thus far, and around 650 inpatient admissions monthly.
AIIMS Rajkot offers round-the-clock emergency and trauma services, with the first 24 hours of care provided free of charge. The facility is equipped with modern operation theaters, intensive care units, 22 specialty, and six super-specialty departments, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
The institute boasts advanced diagnostic services like CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and digital X-rays, complemented by laboratory facilities and an electronic medical record system. Academic-wise, the MBBS intake has increased from 50 to 75 seats annually, with a total of 274 undergraduate students across five batches.
AIIMS Rajkot, established in 2020 under the PMSSY scheme, operates as a 750-bed tertiary care center, aiming to enhance specialized healthcare access and medical education in the region.
