Air India Announces Major Enhancements to International Routes with New Aircraft and Expanded Services
Air India, the Tata Group-owned airline, has announced significant updates to its international flight network, effective from 2025. These changes are part of the airline’s efforts to enhance flexibility and connectivity for intercontinental travel, particularly between North America, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. The upgrades will involve the deployment of advanced aircraft on key routes, including the introduction of the newly upgraded Airbus A320neo and B787-9 aircraft on several major international flights.
One of the primary changes includes the addition of new aircraft and an increase in services for high-demand routes. Starting January 16, 2025, Air India will operate its retrofitted Airbus A320neo on all flights between Delhi and Bangkok. This upgraded aircraft will feature enhanced interiors across Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class, and will also offer passengers complimentary wireless inflight entertainment via Air India’s Vista Stream. Along with this, the Delhi-Bangkok route will see the introduction of a fourth daily flight, improving connectivity to key destinations in North America and Europe.
Additionally, Air India will enhance its services on the Delhi-Frankfurt and Mumbai-Frankfurt routes, with the introduction of the B787-9 aircraft. This aircraft offers a more comfortable travel experience with advanced cabin features and flat-bed seats in Business Class. Similarly, flights between Delhi and Singapore will also benefit from the addition of B787-9 aircraft, with daily services starting on January 1, 2025. The Mumbai-Singapore route will now see twice-daily services using the Airbus A321neo.
These changes are aimed at boosting the airline’s competitiveness in the international market by providing passengers with better connectivity, more flight options, and a more comfortable in-flight experience. New flight schedules on major European routes like Delhi-Paris and Delhi-Frankfurt will also offer better timings for passengers traveling to destinations in Southeast Asia and Australia.
The updates reflect Air India’s broader strategy to improve its global presence and offer more convenience to travelers. These efforts are in line with the airline’s goal of becoming a leading player in the international aviation sector while offering cutting-edge services to its growing customer base.
