Akasa Air has started daily direct flights connecting Mumbai and Abu Dhabi. The inaugural flight departed from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on July 11, 2024, at 17:05 IST and is scheduled to arrive at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 18:50 AST.

A ceremonial event was held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to mark the maiden flight, featuring the lighting of a lamp in the presence of Akasa Air’s Executive Committee members. Leadership from Mumbai International Airport Limited also attended, and a special boarding pass was presented to the first passenger.

The launch offers travelers affordable air travel options between India and the UAE. Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International of Akasa Air, expressed pleasure in starting operations from Abu Dhabi, noting that this is their fourth international destination. Khatri highlighted that the new route will provide affordable and convenient travel options, strengthening air links between the two countries.

Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, emphasized the strategic importance of connecting Mumbai with Abu Dhabi, a city popular among tourists and business travelers. He noted that the new route would cater to the growing demand for air travel between India and the UAE, providing reliable operations and affordable fares.

Belson Coutinho, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing and Experience Officer of Akasa Air, expressed excitement about bringing the Akasa experience to Abu Dhabi. He emphasized the airline’s commitment to service excellence and making each flight a memorable experience for passengers.
