The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) is set to kick off a high-performance strength & conditioning camp at the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) in Bellary. This camp will bring together top male and female kabaddi athletes in preparation for the Asian Games 2026, emphasizing athlete development and long-term performance.
The camp, running from March 27 to April 2, aims to enhance India’s kabaddi ecosystem with a focus on fitness optimization and performance excellence. Notable Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) stars like Naveen Kumar, Arjun Deshwal, and Pawan Sehrawat will participate, showcasing the league’s talent pool.
Among the women’s contingent are key players from the Indian squad that clinched the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup, including skipper Ritu Negi and emerging talents like Sonali Vishnu Shingate and Pushpa Rana. This initiative highlights the commitment of Mashal Sports and AKFI to nurture kabaddi athletes and build a strong talent pipeline for India’s international competitions.
Vibhor Vineet Jain, President of AKFI, emphasized the importance of modern training methodologies and professional support systems for the success of Indian kabaddi players at the global level. Anupam Goswami, PKL League Commissioner, expressed pride in collaborating with AKFI to organize this camp for senior men’s and women’s kabaddi probables ahead of the Asian Games.
The camp, to be held at the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) in Bellary, offers a world-class training facility tailored to the demands of kabaddi. With a focus on preparing athletes for elite international competitions, the facility provides specialized programs and cutting-edge infrastructure for kabaddi athletes.
