Allegations of widespread corruption have surfaced in the Singareni Collieries public sector undertaking under the leadership of Revanth Reddy in Telangana. BRS leader T. Harish Rao has called for the immediate cancellation of all tenders issued under the site visit certificate, claiming Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his brother-in-law are central figures in the alleged scam.
Harish Rao, the deputy floor leader of BRS in the Telangana Assembly, highlighted the cancellation of the Naini tender as evidence of serious irregularities. He accused the government of altering tender rules to benefit specific contractors associated with the Chief Minister and urged for a judicial or CBI investigation into all coal and solar tenders issued by Singareni.
Questioning the transparency of tender processes, Harish Rao criticized Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for deflecting the corruption allegations with irrelevant documents. He emphasized the need for accountability, stressing that Singareni’s resources belong to the people and not to any individual or group.
Harish Rao further alleged that tender conditions were modified without proper consultations, aiming to shield the Chief Minister and his relatives from scrutiny. He demanded the annulment of all tenders awarded through the site visit certificate system and accused the Congress government of concealing profits from Singareni, redirecting funds for political purposes.
