Amazon has issued a public notice emphasizing its sole ownership of all digital rights for actor Mohanlal’s upcoming film ‘Drishyam 3’. The notice warns against any entity engaging with the film’s digital rights in a way that contradicts Amazon’s exclusivity. Amazon stated that it holds these rights exclusively, and any unauthorized dealings would be at the risk of the involved parties.
The statement from Amazon Seller Services Private Limited highlighted its rights under existing agreements with Aashirvad Cinemas. It clarified that any attempts by Aashirvad Cinemas or its affiliates to sell or license the digital rights of ‘Drishyam 3’ are unauthorized. Amazon further cautioned that any party contravening its exclusivity regarding the film would face legal consequences, including potential legal action for infringement.
‘Drishyam 3’, the third installment in the popular franchise, was officially launched with a traditional ceremony near Kochi last year. Director Jeethu Joseph shared insights into the film’s narrative, focusing on the next phase in Georgekutty’s life, portrayed by Mohanlal. Producer Antony Perumbavoor expressed confidence in the decision to proceed with the third part after the success of the previous films.
The filming of ‘Drishyam 3’ spanned various locations, with the final schedule in Ernakulam. Known for its captivating storytelling and Mohanlal’s stellar performance, the Drishyam series has garnered a dedicated following in Indian cinema. The first film, released in 2013, set new standards in Malayalam cinema, while the sequel in 2021 achieved remarkable viewership in theaters and on streaming platforms.
