Actress Ameesha Patel and director Siddharth Anand, known for films like ‘Pathaan’, ‘War’, and ‘Fighter’, have responded strongly to comedian Zakir Khan’s comments about those in the industry who are not happy with the success of ‘Dhurandhar’.
Ameesha Patel, in a post on social media, expressed her disagreement with the negativity being spread, emphasizing that the film industry has always appreciated ‘Dhurandhar’. She mentioned top stars like SRK, Salman, Sunny, Hrithik, and Ajay, highlighting their numerous successful films and reassuring that they will continue to excel in the future.
During an awards show where Zakir Khan was hosting, he humorously pointed out the jealousy that ‘Dhurandhar’ success has sparked among some industry members. While his comment was taken lightly by many, it has also stirred controversy within the industry.
Siddharth Anand, echoing similar sentiments, defended the contributions of individuals from Juhu and Bandra areas in delivering all-time blockbusters for the past five decades. He criticized any attempt to belittle their achievements.
The awards ceremony, where these incidents occurred, has faced criticism for the controversial statements made by the hosts, including a snide remark about actor Rajpal Yadav’s financial troubles due to a cheque bounce case. Yadav, who was convicted in this case, faced accusations of defaulting on repayment to Murli Projects Pvt Ltd.
