During his visit, Amit Shah will support National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in Puducherry as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the union territory. He is expected to return to Chennai by helicopter around 6.10 p.m. and engage with senior BJP leaders from Tamil Nadu before departing for New Delhi.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to land in Chennai at 10.00 a.m. from New Delhi and will meet with Tamil Nadu Congress Committee leaders at the airport. He will then travel to Puducherry for campaign activities for Congress and alliance candidates. His return schedule to Chennai is yet to be confirmed.
Both leaders’ visits on the same day have led to heightened security measures at the airport, including a review of protocols and enhanced coordination to ensure smooth operations. The back-to-back visits highlight the significance of the ongoing election campaign in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
